Sofía Aparcio Secanellas.

 

She received the BS in Mathematics from the University of Zaragoza in 2001 and the PhD in Mathematics from the University of Leiden (Netherlands) in 2005. From 2007 to 2009 she was a member of the Department of Signals, Systems and Radio communication of the Engineering School of Telecommunications from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. From 2009 she is Research Fellow in the former “Instituto de Automática Industrial” from CSIC, nowadays ITEFI. She is in charge of developing a wireless sensor networks system to monitor concrete structures for a predictive maintenance. She is also involved in decaying assessment through wireless sensor networks implementation for architectural heritage conservation. Her research profile is the result of combining a background in mathematics and computing modeling experience to the development of new technologies and methods that are of high interest for industry.
